Nestled in a private cul-de-sac amongst a Moonah forest in Rye with views to Port Phillip Bay, this site had numerous Council and State environmental constraints.

The brief was to capture and enhance the views and provide two distinct living zones, one for the primary user and the other for extended family members and guests.

The design delivered a split level solution, utilising the natural terrain of the site. This resulted in the main zone sitting amongst the tree tops and projecting toward the expansive views available, whilst the secondary zones on the lower levels open onto and create a seamless link with the surrounding Moonah forest. Using natural timbers, subtle tones and extensive glass, the finished dwelling sits unobtrusively within its surrounds.
