On the side of Arthur’s Seat overlooking Port Phillip Bay this project presented an array of challenges including a heavily sloping site, environmental constraints and extreme bushfire classification. The client was seeking a sleek, sophisticated yet unique building which dealt with the challenging site conditions while taking full advantage of the available views.
Strong impact from the street is created by an impressive rammed earth wall; the cantilevered form of the main living area projects toward the view and hovers amongst the surrounding treetops. The design is split into two distinct zones with multiple outdoor living areas, addressing the specific needs of a client with a growing teenage family
